Okay… THE COVERS. THE TITLES. IT’S HAPPENING.
After what feels like an eternity of waiting, we finally have the cover and title reveals for the next two A Court of Thorns and Roses books, and I am officially back in my ACOTAR obsession era.
And honestly? I am excited, slightly overwhelmed, and already wondering what Sarah J. Maas is planning for us.
Because if there is one thing I have learned from SJM, it's that there is probably WAY more going on than I realize.
As someone who is very much a vibe reader, I don't catch every little detail. I don't always notice the tiny hints or symbolism. Sometimes I am just happily reading along, completely invested in the characters, the romance, the drama and whatever emotional damage is happening on the page. 😂
BUT…
When I do catch something?
Oh, I LOVE it.
My Maasiverse journey
When I first read ACOTAR, I had absolutely no idea about the bigger Maasiverse.
I read ACOTAR first. I fell in love with Prythian, the characters, the courts, the romance and all the chaos without really thinking about how it might connect to Sarah J. Maas's other books.
It wasn't until after I finished ACOTAR that I started hearing about the connections and realizing there was a much bigger picture.
So I went on to read Throne of Glass.
And then I read Crescent City.
And somewhere along that journey, I went from:
"Oh, I love these books."
to:
"WAIT… THESE BOOKS ARE CONNECTED?!" 😂
Finishing Throne of Glass and then Crescent City made me look back at ACOTAR a little differently.
Do I catch every connection?
Absolutely not.
I am a vibe reader, remember? 😂
There are probably details that other readers picked up on immediately that completely flew over my head.
But when I DO recognize something?
That little moment when you realize a detail might mean something more, or you recognize a connection from another book, is one of my favorite things about reading the Maasiverse.
And after finishing all three series, I am now firmly on the side of:
PLEASE GIVE ME MORE CROSSOVER.
I want the little connections.
I want the moments where I suddenly realize, WAIT… I KNOW THAT.
I want the references that make me think about Throne of Glass or Crescent City.
And yes…
I want the big crossover moments too.
Give me all of it.
I still want ACOTAR to feel like ACOTAR. I want the characters, the romance, the courts, the drama, the mystery and all the things that made me fall in love with Prythian in the first place.
But knowing what I know now?
If SJM wants to make that universe feel a little bigger, I am READY.
So here I am, looking at these new covers and titles and wondering what we're actually in for.
I'm sure some of you have already spotted approximately 47 things that I completely missed.
And honestly?
Tell me about them. 😂
Because I may be a vibe reader, but I LOVE finding out about those little details afterward and realizing just how much thought went into the story.
Whatever happens with ACOTAR 6 & 7, I already know I am going in excited.
And probably completely unprepared.
